Top 5 Wednesdays | Best Suggested Books you Loved #T5W

Hi There Blogosphere,

I've decided to take part in Top 5 Wednesdays. T5W was created by Lainey who is an amazing Booktuber. If you would like to find out more about T5W, checkout the goodreads group.

Most of the books i read where in one way or another suggested to me, usually from watching videos on Booktube. I very rarely get suggested books personally. These books will be books that i found only because i heard about them on Booktube and wouldn't have found them otherwise. So lets do this thing!

5.
I very rarely see Rainbow Rowell books in Australian bookstores (at least in the area i live). I wish i could remember who it was that spoke about this book, but i am so very grateful. I loved this book, and i was once that IT person so i just got Lincoln. I also rarely read contemporary books, so chance of me picking this up on my own were pretty slim, but i am glad i did.

4.
Another contemporary. I didn't know what to expect with this one. Not only did i love the format it was written in, but that ending!

3.
Ahh Jennifer L. Armentrout. To this day i have still only read Obsidian, i don't know why because man  did i love this book. I don't even care that people can see the resemblance to Twilight, i love them too. And Daemon... Whew!

2.
Splitting 1 and 2 is hard. I seen Illuminae doing the rounds when a lot of the booktubers got the ARC. I bought into the hype but boy am i glad. This has got to be one of the most unique experiences i've ever had while reading a book. I felt like i was a part of the story.

1.
I actually remember who i heard about this book from. April! i never thought to check out Matthew Reilly's books before i seen April talking about this one.  I had seen this books in stores but avoided it because i wrongfully assumed that i wouldn't like it. April mentions dragons and that was all i needed to pick it up. To this day i have never read a book more action packed then this one. I LOVED it!

So there you have it. My top 5 suggest books that i loved. Let me know yours? You can never have too many books to look forward to.

Music Monday | February 2016

Hi There Blogosphere,

It's the beginning of a new month and that means it's time for another music monday. This month i really didn't listen to too many songs, i got Netflix... But i still did listen to music and these are my top 10 from the month based on what scrobbled in last.fm.

  1. Friend Like Me - From "Aladdin" Ne-Yo
    • This song was originally featured in Aladdin as sung my Robin Williams as the Genie.
    • It was recently released on the Album We Love Disney.
    • It is such a catchy song, and i love Ne-Yo's take on it.
  2. Don't Threaten Me With a Good Time - Panic! at the Disco
    • Can be found on Panic! at the Disco's 2016 album Death of a Bachelor
    • I just love Panic! at the Disco. Their songs always have me hooked.
  3. All About That Bass - Meghan Trainor
    • Featured on the album Title.
    • This is one of my favourite songs to sing loudly!
  4. 22 - Alex Goot, Feat. Sam Tsui, Kurt Schneider, ATC and King the Kid
    • Originally by Taylor Swift on the album Red
    • I adore Alex Goot's covers. He never fails to amaze and the other YouTubers on this track are equally talented.
  5. Applause - Lady GaGa
    • Feature on the album ArtPop
    • i wasn't a fan of Lady GaGa's newest album. I love this song from it however, i like that it's got a good hook that reels you in.
  6. Because We Can - Bon Jovi
    • Featured on the album What About Now
    • I enjoy some good Bon Jovi, he always has such driving beats and this song along with an amazing hook gets me singing everytime.
  7. Berzerk - Eminem
    • Features on the album The Marshall Mathers LP2
    • I loved this album from Eminem. I was a huge fan of all the throwback songs to the first Marshall Mathers LP. Berzerk is a good song for when you're angry. Its loud, and it's hard.
  8. Best Song Ever - One Direction
    • Features on the album Midnight Memories
    • I've said it before, i can't help but love One Directions smooth pop beats. And Look it's in the title, it's the BEST SONG EVER.
  9. Breaking the Habit - Linkin Park
    •  Features on the album Meteora
    • I don't know if this song will ever not feature on my top 10. It's my favourite, Linkin Park are my Favourite.
  10. Cake By the Ocean - Dnce
    • Debut single from Joe Jonas's new band Dnce.
    • I've always had a soft spot for the Jonas Brothers and when Joe started his own band i had to look into the song. I Love it! I love the beat that makes you want to dance. It's just a fun song and i can't wait to see what Dnce has for us in the future.
Well, there you have it. This is my top 10 for February 2016. All catchy songs, that evoke different emotions but i love them all the same.

Tell me what you favourite song was from February?

On My Shelf | Good Omens

Hi There Blogosphere,

Today a new feature begins on The Glittery Nerd, known as On My Shelf. I own a large amount of unread books, on my shelf aims to highlight my unread books to you as well as myself, maybe both of us will want to pick up the book sooner rather than later.

Title: Good Omens
Author: Terry Pratchett & Neil Gaiman
Publisher: Gollancz
Published on: March 13 2014 (First Published in 1990)
Pages: 424
Buy this book: Book Depository*

Synopsis: "Armageddon is in the air. According to the Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch (recorded, thankfully, in 1655, before she blew up her entire village and all its inhabitants, who had gathered to watch her burn), the world will end on a Saturday. Next Saturday, in fact. So the Armies of Good and Evil are massing, the four Bikers of the Apocalypse are revving up their mighty hogs and hitting the road, and the world's last two remaining witchfinders are getting ready to Fight the Good Fight. Atlantis is rising. Frogs are falling. Tempers are flaring, and everything appears to be going to Divine Plan.
Except that a somewhat fussy angel and a fast-living demon are not particularly looking forward to the coming Rapture. They've lived amongst Humanity for millennia, and have grown rather fond of the lifestyle. So if Crowley and Aziraphale are going to stop it from happening, they've got to find and kill the AntiChrist (which is a shame, really, as he's a nice kid). There's just one glitch: someone seems to have misplaced him<."
 - Goodreads

I bought this book after reading an article that recommended books based off your favourite TV show. I am a massive supernatural fan and this was one of the books that was recommended. After reading the synopsis i could see why. I could just see Crowley and Castiel being the angel and demon mention in this synopsis (it's a little funny that one of the characters is Crowley, did Supernatural get that from here?)

I did speak about this book in a video, saying that this is one of the books that i hope to get to in 2016. Here's hoping i can.

How i Organise my Goodreads Shelves.

Hi There Blogosphere,

So i've been spending some time recently organising my goodreads shelves. I've recently discovered that i can create more mutually exclusive shelves and i've become a bit obsessed. I don't know if anyone is going to be interested but i thought i would share how my shelves are being organised.

  • My Currently Reading and Read shelves remain the same, i think its pretty obvious what these shelves mean.
  • Want To Read (To-Read) - So this shelf displays on Goodreads as To-Read. I wish i could change the name but this shelf has become the list of books that i want to buy. This means books that i don't own yet but i'm interested in reading.
  • TBR-Owned-Books - This is the list of books that i currently own, but have yet to read. I wanted a better way to keep track of not only books i own by books that i still need to read in my personal collections.
  • DNF -  This is the last of my mutually exclusive shelves. It's probably fairly self explanatory but these are the books that i did not finish and have no plans of ever finishing.
The rest of my bookshelves are, i think, fairly self explanatory. For example: Own, is simply the books that i physically own, and the years (2015, 2014 etc) represent the years that i read those books in.

I'm not the great organization but hopefully i've got my goodreads in a place that is organised and if someone wants to browse my shelves this will help them out.

Music Monday: My Top 10 of 2015

Hi There Blogosphere,

There is going to be a new monthly feature on my blog, and its called Music Monday. Music Monday will be a playlist put together of the songs that i've listened to the most during the month, all the music i listen to is scrobbled through my last.fm account which i've had since 2006. I thought i would start off with my top 10 most listen to songs of 2015. I've included a spotify playlist so you can listen along.

  1. Carry On Wayward Son - Vivien Armour, Alyssa Lynch, Kelli Ogmundson, Katie Sarife, Rachel Warkentin, Nina Winkler & Jay Gruska - Number of Plays - 5
    • Features in Supernatural's 200th episode "Fan Fiction"
    • The girls that sang this did such an amazing job. I love the slower version of this song compared to the original (which i also adore), i love singing along.

  2. Let it Go - Indina Menzel - Number of Plays 32
    • Featured in Disney's Frozen
    • I know people are sick of this song but i can't help but sing this song at the top of my lungs every time. I may even be guilty of repeating to sing it again.

  3. Breaking the Habit - Linkin Park - Number of Plays - 31
    • Originally found on "Meteora" by Linkin Park
    • I do consider Linkin Park on of my favourite bands, and Meteora is my favourite album of theirs. This song is the best to sing loudly while stuck in traffic.

  4. Fight Song - Rachel Platten - Number of Plays - 31
    • Rachel Platten's best known song.
    • Who doesn't love to sing an empowering song out loud?

  5. Kiss You - One Direction - Number of Plays - 29
    • Originally found on "Take Me Home" by One Direction
    • Fun Fact: i originally heard a cover of this song sang by Luke Conard and Joey Graceffa on YouTube before i heard the original, i fell in love with that version and decided that i should hear the original.

  6. Castle - Halsey - Number of Plays - 28
    • Originally found on "Bad Lands" by Halsey
    • I have to thank Whitney from Whitty Novels on YouTube for introducing me to Halsey. Her dark, alternative style gets me everytime.

  7. All About That Bass - Meghan Trainor - Number of plays - 26
    • Originally found on "Title" By Meghan Trainor

  8. FU - Miley Cyrus - Number of Plays - 24
    • Orginally found on "Bangerz" by Miley Cyrus
    • I will admit that i'm sometimes not crazy about some of the things Miley Cyrus does, but at least she is being Miley and this song is a great song for when you're mad at somebody, sing this out loud and you'll feel a little better.

  9. Living on a Prayer - Alex Goot - Number of Plays 23
    • Originally sung by Bon Jovi.
    • Alex Goot as got to be one of the most talented people on YouTube. He has never put a song out that i haven't liked (honestly, i have liked some of his covers better than the original)

  10. Rock Me - One Direction  - Number of Plays 21

    • Originally found on "Take Me Home" by One Direction

    • Can we all tell i had a thing for One Direction Last year.
So there you have it. My 10 most listened to tracks from 2015. I'll be playing around with the style of these post's. Let me know if you liked the little snippets of why i listened to certain songs, or should i just list the songs?

What is your favourite song at the moment? Maybe i can find some more music to add to my list.

2016 Goals | YouTube, Blogging and Reading

Hi There Blogosphere,

So today i uploaded a 2016 goals video to my Youtube Channel. Since i filmed that video i have been thinking about things that i would like to do specifically on this blog. So I'm slowly coming up with some feature that i would like to have on the blog, not all of which are book related (i hope that's ok). So here is what i'm thinking:
  • TBR Spotlight - I've noticed this other other bloggers pages, (i first seen in on Alyssa's blog, check her out here she is amazing) where they talk about a book that they have on there TBR. Now i have around 500ish books unread on my shelves and maybe picking a random book every now and then and discussing this book might help me get through some of the books i've owned for a long time! I will mostly likely add a section where i discuss why i want to read this book, or maybe why i've changed my mind
  • Movie Spotlight - Same situation as the TBR Spotlight. I haven't seen this on anyone else's blog but i thought i would just convert the concept to movies as well.
  • Music Monday's - This was something that i used to do on my YouTube channel. Where i would make a playlist of songs that i've been loving for the last month, based off of my Live.Fm account. I'm going to move it on to the blog, hopefully i can find somewhere i can set up a playlist to share the music.. (still a work in progress)
So i really want to come up with more features for the blog, and i'm sure i will over time, but this is what i've come up with for now.

Until Next Time
